Partner Nicholas V. Chen has been selected as the winner of the 2009 Client Choice Award for M&A in Taiwan by London-based International Law Office (ILO).

Partner Nicholas V. Chen has been appointed Vice Director of the International Committee of the Taiwan M&A and Private Equity Council, along with representatives from Citibank Taiwan and Taiwan Development Industrial Bank.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) announced earlier today a US$200 million settlement of the actions brought in California State Court against Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC) in 2006 related to SMIC’s misappropriation of TSMC trade secrets and breach of a 2005 settlement agreement between the two companies.

Partner Nicholas V. Chen attended the Angel Island Foundation Benefit annual charity dinner in San Francisco. The Angel Island Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote a greater understanding of Pacific Coast immigration and its role in shaping America’s past, present and future.
