Nicholas V. Chen Receives NAPABA Trailblazer Award


Partner Nicholas V. Chen received the 2012 Trailblazer Award last Friday during the 24th annual convention in Washington, D.C. The Trailblazer Award, which is NAPABA's highest honor, recognizes individuals who have "demonstrated vision, courage, and tenacity, and who have made substantial and lasting contributions to the Asian Pacific American (APA) legal profession, as well as the broader APA community".

US DOJ and SEC Issue Joint Resource Guide to FCPA

The United States Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission released last Wednesday long awaited guidance on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The 120-page document titled "A Resource Guide to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act" provides useful case studies and insight into what constitutes a violation or what might be a mitigating defense. The guide also discusses how often and why the authorities have declined to prosecute public and private companies in the past.
