width=Partner Nicholas V. Chen hosted the second annual “International Law Symposium” at the 2009 National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Convention in Boston.

The half-day symposium started with a luncheon keynoted by Paul Lee and moderated by Grace Parke Fremlin. The three afternoon panels were:

  • “Everything You Wanted to Know About International Arbitration but Were Afraid to Ask: A Primer for the Non-Specialist”
  • “The Risks Facing ‘Foreign Parties’ in the Courts of the Asia-Pacific Jurisdictions”
  • “Inside the Boardroom: Governance Issues Facing Corporate Boards in Asia During Troubled Times”

The symposium ended with a cocktail reception and off-site dinner.

The International Law Committee also hosted an interactive workshop during the main NAPABA convention entitled: “Masters Class: Business Development Best Practices.” Nick moderated the event which included panels and break-out sessions.
